Tip if RW Crashes Due to Edit and then Keeps Crashing on Startup

Some of you have run into bugs when editing content that result in a crash. When Realm Works starts up again, you are automatically taken back to the content where the crash occurred and then RW crashes again. The net result is that you can't get back to the rest of your realm data.

Fortunately, there's a workaround that will usually solve the problem for you. RW maintains a preferences file where the last state is preserved. By deleting this preferences file, you can clear the state and RW will launch with nothing selected in the central contents pane. You can then access your data normally, although accessing the content with the crash bug could again result in a crash until we get the problem fixed. So stay away from the topic/note/etc with the problem until we get a patch release out later this week.

You'll find the preferences file on your computer. To locate it, open Windows Explorer (aka File Manager). On the C: drive, go to the Users folder, then into the folder for your Windows user name. From there, go to AppData, then Roaming, then LWD Technology, and finally into Realm Works. At that point, delete the file named "preferences.xml", after which you can restart RW.

As an example, here's the full path to the file:
C:\Users\rbowes\AppData\Roaming\LWD Technology, Inc\Realm Works\preferences.xml

Hope this helps!

FYI, I decided to try this for my "Wrapper object not found within list" issue because that problem developed when I tried to edit something using the word-processor tools. Didn't work. I still get the "Wrapper object" fail and RW terminates when I push "Don't Send" (as I already sent in an error report).
