of course not! Card Vault 1.3 is merely such an epitome of perfection that
nobody wants to report any problems or have any features added to it. ;)

Well, I know for certain it still has 1 Bug...

The "Delete a card, re add the card, now it says there are too many
in my deck" bug still exists.

As for features.... I'm still waiting on the updates for the L5R
database. There are now Several cards that need to be updated
(Promos), as well as the fix for the "Singular = Unique" bug..

Other than that, lookin' pretty good!

Actually, I have been meaning to ask for a few things:

* Undo.
* I would like to be able to set it so increment/decrement with a specific
quality would adjust the unknown quality automatically.
* I want to be able to rate cards on how useful they are.
* I asked for this and I thought it made it on the list, but I want to be
able to print only enough proxies to make up inventory shortfalls.

I just tried a simple test of this, and it worked fine. Can you provide an
example?

This is a data file issue, which we will hopefully resolve sometime in the
future. Rob (who manages the L5R data files) is knee-deep in stuff at the
moment, so I'm not sure when. Sorry.

Thanks! :)

It's still on the list; it's just one of the many pages of things that
didn't make it into v1.3. Sorry :(

Sure... Since I use L5R...

Open Program. Open the L5R Database.

Add the first Unique card you can find. (In my version, Currently
Unfiltered, It is "The 12th Black Scroll", which is actually the very
first card. To see this card, you might have to hit the "Right Arrow"
to see the "Fate" deck.)

Select the card from the fate deck. Click Delete.
Click Yes.
Now Add the card again.

If you look at the Very Bottom, where the "Deck Validation Report"
is, you'll see:
"The 12th Black Scroll: Over Limit"

Rob acknowledged that this was a bug in 1.2, and was slated to be
fixed in 1.3... But it hasn't, apparently. Maybe we got it in too
late.

If you need to, I can provide screenshots.

I'm afraid this seems to be working fine for me...

And this problem occurs when you have no other cards in any deck, right
after you start Card Vault? I.e. you haven't been opening any saved decks
(or saving open ones), or using any other game systems, before you can make
it occur?

Yeah. Giving the exact directions I just gave you. I open card vault,
open L5R database, add the card, remove the card, add the card
again.. Poof. Deck Validation Error.

I took screenshots of the process. I also took a screenshot of the
About screen, in case maybe I didn't update fully or something.

You can find the screenshots at:

The "Backup" directory is the original bitmaps, if the JPGs aren't
clear enough for you.

Thanks!

Ditto. Happened in L5R 5.1 and 5.2.

Any movement on this issue?

I turned off the webserver until I get back from Utah (which will be

Adding Undo functionality is now on the todo list. However, be aware that
implementing Undo is a HUGE undertaking compared to just about everything
else on the todo list. So the added value of the Undo feature is going to
have to be more compelling than the combined added value of multiple other
features in order for Undo to actually get done. Realistically, this means
it probably won't make it into a V1.4 update, for which there are still
quite a few very important features clamoring to be added. :-)

I don't understand what you mean in your second feature. Can you give me an
example, please?

User rating of cards is already on the todo list, along with filtering on
those ratings and adding user keywords that can also be filtered on. These
are some of the things that I was thinking of when I said the Undo feature
has a lot of competition for V1.4. :-)

The ability to print just enough proxies WAS added to the todo list. It
just didn't get completed in V1.4. The overall todo list for CV has well
over 200 tasks on it. For each release, we have to cull through that list
and pick the ones that we'll end up actually adding. There's no way we can
do them all, and we take our best guess on which ones are the most
important to be added. Unfortunately, this means that there will always be
folks who think we picked the wrong ones. I figure that, as long as we are
batting .700 or better (i.e. most users think we chose well on 70% of the
features in a given release), then we're doing pretty well. And if we can
hit .900 or better, then we're golden. :-)

Thanks, Rob

Rob,

Like I said... it's down at the moment.. I can host one
temporarily...

http://64.156.238.83:255/Stuff/CVError/

It'll be up there for another few hours or so..

But after that, i'm in Utah right now (and it's being hosted on
Dialup, so it'll be slow)..

I won't be back at my homesite until Monday afternoon.. Then the
original URL will work.

I have to go out of town this weekend. We're having a wake for an old
friend who's officially entering "old age" (read: turning 40). Too bad I
already beat him to the milestone... :-)

Anyways, I won't be able to look at it until next week anyways, so I'll
just get it then. :-)

Thanks, Rob

So what O/S are you using? This problem doesn't occur on the few
environments we've tested here. It's possible the problem only occurs for
some O/Ss or certain physical configurations. Please give me as much info
as you can so that we can try to setup an equivalent (or nearly equivalent)
system to test on here.
