Thanks to everyone's help, V3.1 has now been released. All fingers and toes are now crossed that everything goes smoothly with the new release. 
To everyone who contributed to V3.1, we greatly appreciate all the support! We never would have managed to pull this off without everyone's efforts!

The following is a quick summary of the key new things that have been added in V3.1:
• The squads mechanism is always available and can be configured to utilize no extra screen space
• A splitter allows you to adjust the relative height of the top and bottom screen sections, so you can focus first on adding units then focus on customizing your roster
• Existing rosters can now be loaded from the "Create New Roster" form
• Column widths can be adjusted by clicking on the vertical separator and dragging
• The most recent rosters you use can be loaded with a single click from the "File" menu
• Loading a roster for a different game system offers to automatically switch to that game system
• Many aspects of the interface can now be customized or adjusted to suit your preferences
• Extensive enhancements have been made to the engine for improved data file authoring and more seamless adaptation to each game system (you'll start seeing these in the upcoming months as data file updates take advantage of the new capabilities)
• The Authoring Kit is now publically available, including extensive documentation and complete tools for writing/editing data files
