Test File Folder Help

Ok, I have Win8 and this used to work fine, (maybe that is the issue). Anyways, I used to make a copy of clean hero lab folder (demo mode) and switch it out with my normal activate hero lab folder to check there were no issues with a user file I made to share.

Now when I do it, the hero lab folder becomes not visible. The renamed file is there, but I have to uninstall Hero labs and re-activate and reinstall everything just to check a file.

Any ideas?

I am not sure what is wrong but I do know of an easier way to test stuff. As I have the same issue as you needing to see if a data set we make will load with just the CORE HL license.

Go to "Develop->Skip This Game's Supplement Packages". That will cause a game system like Pathfinder to load only the CORE package. :)

Well that is very cool! Thank you!

But how do you run it with the Community Beastie installed without getting the errors for it?

You can't as the CB requires many of the larger official packages to load. So I keep multiple "data sets" or Pathfinder Games setup instead.

You can see I have allot different ones setup. This way I can more easily test stuff without mixing files together. So for say Mythic I can easily test for CORE only without messing up CB. I also don't accidentally bootstrap something from a different community package which would cause it to not load on peoples machines.

Why its a bit of work it makes keeping all the moving pieces I have to work with separate and clean. :)
