Temporary warriors fixes

Archaon1 has been working away at the data file to iron out some of the reported issues, and has been good enough to provide us with a copy. It is located here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/201285098/w6_26b.ab

This isn't an official release and won't show up in AB's update section, you need to manually import it.

A huge thanks to archaon1 for making this available!

Here are the fixes so far:

Poisoned attacks and scaly skin for Warhounds have been added with point costs

Exalted Champion now can choose Battle Standard bearer

The cost for Book of Secrets has been adjusted

Cost for Crimson Armour has been adjusted

Cost for throwing axes for Marauder horsemen adjusted

If Throgg the Troll King is taken in an army, Trolls become core.

Juggernaut of Khorne adds the correct save.

Cost for Dragon Ogre Shaggoth corrected.

Collar of Khorne may be taken by any char

Banner of Rage may be taken by any unit

Golden Eye of Tzeetch price corrected

Chaos shrine text corrected (said Chaos Ogres)

The Blasted Standard may be taken by any unit

‘Chosen’ Champion may now take up to 25 points of items

Still some items that have mark limitations that should not.

Quite a few items that should have ChaosStuff.Sorcerer limitations do not, but we're getting closer :-)

These files are great, thanks for making the temp files.

The Tzeentch Mark issue with the daemon prince (invalidates magic levels and sorcerer iterms) still exists.

I have also noticed that unit champs for cavalry units come out as US 1 even though the normal unit is correctly 2.

I downloaded your file and got a ton of "duplicate" messages and then it shut down the program. I reinstalled the old file, but I think yours needs more work.

And you've both made sure you put the file in correct directory?

C:\ArmyBuilderEX\data\wh6

Where you overwrite the already existing file?

I downloaded the original file right to my desktop, and imported from there. Am I supposed to add the second file into the oiriginal?

I tried it today and it crashed.

I got a note that:

chaos.dat-1505 Tag "Throgtrol' not defined
chaos.dat-1628 Tag 'Throgg' no defined

Click "ok" after that and it closed out the program.

But someone released a general update that included all the newest bug fixes; just use AB's update feature and you should be fine.

Top of the board says downloads will fail. I dont know any other way of getting my old files back. AB wont even work now, crashes every time I open it.

In Armybuilder, on the top right (load something other than WHF to get to this point), if it says "View Updates" or "New Updates" (this only applies if you still have an active AB license) - then at least the part of the problem dealing with updates has been fixed. That's the case for me right now.

You can always delete the warhammer fantasy folder within the armybuilder program's data folder (c:/ArmyBuilderEX/data/wh6 on my computer) - that makes sure you don't have anything mucking up a clean re-install of the WHF files.

The direct web link to the most recent Warhammer data file is:
http://www.datafilesrus.com/a3/wh6_27.ab

It appears to be downloadable as I write this, so it should work even if the AB internal update feature is broken.

At what point does it crash? If you can get to the initial system selection screen you should be able to import the above file, otherwise a re-install of AB may be needed.

Isnt that for version 2?

Mine crashes when I try to open WHFB 6/7. It tries to load data files and finds the errors, give me the error, and closes.

Nope, it's the one from this page which is for AB3 files.

Sounds to me like AB itself is fine. In your situation I would try the following:
  1. Rename your existing \data\wh6 folder to something else, e.g. broken_wh6
  2. Download the .ab file from the link above to your \download\ folder. Overwrite if it asks you.
  3. Fire up AB3 and use the import function on the file you just downloaded before choosing a game system to open.
  4. If everything's fine delete the broken_wh6 folder and all its contents. If everything's not fine seek further advice!
