thanks Mathias, that worked.
i've read so many times lately shadowchemosh saying don't reinstall herolab until told to so i held off my instinct to do so :D

It's rare that I've seen problems with the installation of the program itself - 95% of the time, when someone reports a bug here on the forums, it's an issue with the data files that have been loaded - but in this case, you were one of those in the other 5%.

(Also, one of the things I think ShadowChemosh is trying to save people from doing is the delete and re-load - just running the installer again is usually sufficient - deleting it first is usually not needed).

yeah i didn't delete. figured i'd run the installer first and see if it fixed, then would uninstall and try again if it didn't. i just wish i knew what caused it. i hadn't even opened herolab in a couple days but it was working just fine the last time i closed it!

Correct. And like you said 95% or more the issue is in the .user files. HL the .exe is usually very stable at this point. But many people are in the habit of uninstalling and reinstalling. Which also destroys the Secondary URL setting so they are no longer linked to the Community Servers.

Which means a new version of Pathfinder comes out and they get issues and it does not tell them that a new Community Package is available. Which causes a support issue.

So I have been trying to cut the above issues out before it causes an issue.
