Specific Bonus Language

Erich

Well-known member
I am currently working on the Foreign Office Diplomat Edge and noticed that the Edge gives French as a free language.
Now, I know how to add bonus language slots to an Edge. Is there any way to make the bonus language slot specifically French?

Thanks

Hmm... well, for a Knowledge version of that you just set up a Bootstrap of skKnow click in Fields...: set FieldID: to "domDomain" (no quotes) and Value: French. So presumably there is some kind of domDomain field for Languages. Or there is a Language tag group, maybe... I'll see if I can find something more on it tomorrow if someone else hasn't answered first when I'm on my other computer (which has Hero Lab on it. ;))

I think the thing to Bootstrap would be lgLanguage rather than skKnow, then presumably you could set the text of the language with domDomain. But that didn't quite work for me, but I didn't test it much.

What you would bootstrap depends on how languages are being handled in that particular Setting. With Multiple Languages chosen, it set up languages in their own category. Without ML, they are Knowledge Skills. domDomain should work with either one.
