Space Marines Legendary Chapter Rules

When attempting to create a fairly large list for a Legendary Space Marines Chapter (Black Templars) I found that I was unable to include more than two (2) Elite and two (2) Heavy choices without triggering a validation error.

As it turns out, when a user selects a Space Marine Legendary Chapter using the "Change Rules" dialog nothing is done to "clear" any "Chapter Divergence", "Divergence Advantages", or "Divergence Drawbacks" that may have been previously selected. It seems that in selecting the ruleset for a Space Marines Legendary Chapter, which would hopefully do something to set Chapter specific rules, would also clear (or set as the case may be) the "Chapter Divergence", "Divergence Advantages", or "Divergence Drawbacks" rules to comply with the ruleset for the Legendary Chapter, but this is clearly not the case.

Since there are many that would use the datafile that would not be familiar enough with either the core rules for a Legendary Chapter or the interior workings of the datafile to know something was wrong, it would seem appropriate to ensure that setting the ruleset for a Legendary Chapter would also handle control of "Chapter Divergence", "Divergence Advantages", or "Divergence Drawbacks" as appropriate for the Legendary Chapter.

Would it be possible to make the necessary changes to the datafile to ensure the creation of Legendary Chapter that are fully compliant with the Chapter rules?

with out wishing to start anything silly it is a reasonable request from the maintainers that people add this to the title. Although there are not a lot of postings on here yet, in the future it will make it a lot quicker for the relevant maintainer to hunt through the posts just by looking for [SM AB3]. It wont take up too much of your time either, also what may be 'obvious' to one may not be to another.

As per your bug, that is what it should be doing. I seem to recall that there is a bug in Army Builder itself that is not clearing previously selected rules.
There is nothing that can be done in the datafiles themselves to solve this problem. Until the problem is solved, the workaround is to use the "Reset" button on the Change Rules window, or use the "Switch Game System" to start a fresh army when changing rules.
