I want to create Soltengrebbe (the mythic chimera in the Wrath of the Righteous AP) in hero lab.

I would like to make some modifications. I do not see how to create a mythic monster without adding template and a lot of custom work.

Can someone tell me how to do it? I have nearly all of the add-ons... so I am hoping I have not just missed a checkbox or something simple.

My understanding is that Mythic monsters are created as new monsters, not modifications of standard monsters. So you would need to use the editor and create it as a new creature.

Hmm.. that seems more complicated than I was thinking.

I wonder if they are ever going to add this capability. I try to steer clear of the editor.
I really have no idea what is going on in there and I have very little time to devote to learning it.

Your options for customising with the editor are quite limited. You can:

Add a template - there are a small number of Mythic creature templates available in Hero Lab.

Make it a Mythic character - if you use the tick box on the Character Configuration screen (ctrl-k to open) it'll add a tab in the character to use the standard mythic character rules.

On the race tab, if you check the Customise tickbox it will let you change around feats & skills.

Finally, there's a race option near the top of the standard race list called "Bestiary Monster Creation". This allows you to input the race manually without using the editor. There's a lot of leeway on it, but it isn't as powerful as the editor.

Hope something there helps :)

I created sort of a "Generic Mythic Template" that a person can use to build a mythic monster. This will be added soon to the Community Bestiary.

The issue is still in the end that a Mythic Monster is a "unique" monster. As such it will often require being built in the Editor. But as long as you don't need allot of script its not that bad to make a monster. Its way easier than a class actually.

I've yet to find pretty much anything, mythic or otherwise, that I haven't been able to build through the Bestiary Monster Creation option. It doesn't necessarily look pretty, and editor created monsters are definitely better looking, but it works.

That is cool to know. I don't use the Bestiary Creator other than to play a few times. I didn't know it could do unique mythic monsters. I will keep that in mind for future questions. :)

There are options at the bottom of the panel for customised special qualities. Obviously it won't automate very specific things such as situational modifiers, but there's a lot of option there. I've found it quite useful for adding monsters from APs that aren't in the base Hero Lab files.

I am not 100% certain on this, but I do believe it is on the to-do list to add in mythic creature creation eventually as it is part of the Mythic Adventures book. Some things had to be put on a to-do list when they ran out of editor space. The editor work around has been implemented but I believe there is still quite a bit of work still on the list to be done for Pathfinder.
