so is PF1 not coming to HLO? have you tried polling your customers?

Which Game System do you most want to use HeroLab Online for?

I've been lurking around for some time trying to find answers as to when Pathfinder (not 2) will be coming to HeroLab Online. Haven't seen anything indicating any kind of timeframe.

I know there were business reasons for going wtih PF2 instead of PF1 initially, but I'm wondering if any kind of polling of us customers was done to factor into that. Many people have invested hundreds and hundreds of dollars into PF1 and have no intention of abandoning that investment. A good amount of that investment has been into PF1 on HeroLab.

I was over the top excited to hear about HLO, and have been extremely disappointed to hear that the folks who have likely been the biggest financial investors in HeroLab are the ones being put at the back of the line for the new product.

So with that said (and at the understood risk of making a fool of myself here) I'd like to propose a poll. For those who have invested money on HeroLab, please select in the poll which game system you would like to see the most activity on for HeroLab Online. For those who haven't spent money on HeroLab, please comment on which Game System would most likely get you to invest in HeroLab Online.

I am in no hurry to move my PF1 stuff over to HLO; I'm perfectly happy to wait until the GM features and User file support are ready.

Daft, plunk?

PF1 would have been much, much harder to start with than PF2. Starting with just a core book means they can get something out much faster than the pre-planning needed for all of PF1's content, which means better responsiveness from their dev team and a generally stronger showing as they move past only a single game system.

;)

Just my 2 cents. If HLC had Starfinder I would have purchased it instead (it would save the waiting headache for GM features in HLO and help me prep my new game). But it doesn't, and so I'll wait for the potential of what it should be (Hopefully that wait isn't too much longer though).

I too am waiting for word on this one.
Our group has decided to stick with PF1 for the time being - we have a lot of AP's that we havent played yet.

for us it is the sharing of character sheets and party treasure type stuff which we would use. Hopefully once CM is released we will see some traction.

As to the original post: Rob initially announced that Pathfinder would be the first system made available for HLO after they had Starfinder and the initial set of features implemented and stable to their liking. I believe this is still the plan and that the only reason another system was added first is that Paizo sprang Playtest on them.

With HLO's current state of development, and especially with it's policy of secondary licensing, i.e. none, I have absolutely no desire to abandon the desktop and Ipad apps for it. Let them and Paizo get their acts together on PF2 and Starfinder first.

I was in the same camp, until my Ipad died (and it costs more to fix than replace).... It would be very nice to be able to have Herolab on something else...as I can buy a Android tablet (and as far as I know there is nothing even remotely close to HL on Android) cheaper than I can an Ipad.

Right now I am using the Desktop version on a Surface Pro - while its ok, its certainly not as user friendly.

The only other alternative for me is to go back to Pen and Paper (shudders)....:D

Considering how long Realm Works has been in development, I don't think anyone has to worry about compatibility until 2030 or so...:D

We need to get other useful features online before we can bring PF across, but we do intend to have it online in the future.

Ultimately, PF1 is still available on HLC with pretty amazing functionality. LW have guaranteed us that when it lands on HLO, we will be able to migrate across for no extra cost. In the meantime, there is massive activity with PF2 playtest which a lot of us need support for.

As for slating RW, well I personally have yet to pay any subscription fee and have now run 6 campaigns using the software, which is extremely useful. Have patience and I am sure that eventually all will come to pass.....
