Smart Image - Player View

The controls of a smart image should be the same is they are when the GM is editing it.

Furthermore scrolling should happen in "realtime", so the screen should not just update when the GM let's go of the mouse.

When sending the Smart image to the player view, maybe add default options (maybe remember them for this topics and make it possible to set a default): show whole image if possible, maximize window, show original size)

Things like that to select the "desired player size" so maybe no further editing has to be done.

I agree that the handling of the player view, especially with smart images, could be more streamlined.

Things like: Showing the image in player view, changing to player view to resize the images, later going back to the topic to reveal areas, then having to remember to click the save icon, changing back to the player view to pan or adjust the zoom (with the mentioned laggy experience) - those aren't the smoothest of workflows and can break the flow of a game.

On the other hand - it is nice you can fiddle with it and when you are satisfied or when the climax is reached you simply press "save" and presto - the thing is revealed to the players.

So - I guess what I am saying is - we want it both ways!

:-)

Hrm, not sure what you mean. I have nothing aginst the save being equal to a "commit" all changes done. The smart image toolbox should just be massively improved to be handy.

I got the impression that the talk was about having a direct interaction with the player view; as in, I make a tiny change and it is immediately shown in real time in player view.

And I could see a lot of situations where that might not necessarily be the best option.

As for more options: How can one not agree to that? :-)

Well, this yellow buttons would control if players see something or not. So yes, if you had the yellow button activated and move around / reveal it would be insta visible.
