Skills not working

So, I'm having a bit of an issue with skills. I have a variant Human, and the race tab is red and telling me I don't have enough skills chosen, but there is no where to select skills. I also cannot select skills for the background or for the class. I'm working around this by using permanent adjustments, but did I miss something installing the community pack?

Disregard. I found it in an old forum post: apparently if you have background traits checked, you cannot select skills anywhere... interesting bug.
