Ship building

Starships aren't ready yet, but we definitely have them in mind. NPCs and custom monsters will come first, and will serve as stress test of some of the UI functionality that will go into starship building.

Considering they refused to release Starfinder on regular Hero Lab due to the ships... I find it irresponsible for them to go into production with the ships non-functioning. This should still be a beta program and NOT a paid release

Seems like we'll be lucky to see it this year. I'm betting it's going to come after Pathfinder 2E Playtest.

I'm afraid starships lagged behind when the person in charge of them took leave of the company. As Ian is no longer with us, his replacement had to be trained before they could take up his work. Unfortunately, that means we won't have them in place for GC. While I don't have an ETA to give you, I can assure you starships are still on the roadmap.

Thanks for the update, BJ!

While HLO is in it's infancy, I'm digging it. I like the way it is structured much more than HLC and honestly, most of my learning curve stemmed from HLC preconceptions. I'm anxiously awaiting starships but honestly, the biggest HLC feature I miss right now is the Tactical Console.

My son, who only had limited HLC exposure for making his own characters is also a HLO user. As a GM, he's found it to be an intuitive and invaluable tool.

Regular HeroLab is an end of life product. there's not going to be any further development outside of bug fixes.

To be clear to other readers this is NOT true from all LW statements. Games systems in HLC are NOT going away or suddenly not going to be supported. Other than PF1 I don’t think many games will be present in both HLC and HLO.

It’s one thing to complain its another to present “false” information. Asking nicely that you do not spread misinformation. :)

This is an incorrect statement. In fact, we've stated just the opposite, so perhaps you've missed those. HLClassic is very much alive and well. We have a variety of books due out soon for multiple game systems - they slipped a little due to the push to get PF2 Playtest into place for GenCon. There is also active work in progress on new stuff for HLClassic that we can't share at this time, but that you'll hopefully be hearing about a little down the line.

They're different people, and they are both gone.

Staff turnover in Silicon Valley is a common thing. While we've lost two developers, we've already added four, so we're actually growing right now. :)
