Sharing Data with my DM

I'm new to this. Is there a way for me to share my character with my DM without having to buy the source materials twice (once for me and once for him?) Seems silly pay twice.

Yes. You print the character sheet or he/she buys his own books in HL.

Or you can buy a another license for your DM to use, assuming you trust this person enough. They get access to the same books you do.

Except for the fact that doing so violates the agreement you signed when installing HL. Each license is for a single "person" to use not a group to use. This was a major problem LW dealt with in the beginning where one person would buy HL and then share there License with the whole group.

If the DM can't afford his own copy of HL then you print him the character sheet.

Other options include generating either a PDF output or a text file containing the stat block for your character.

The other idea is using the iPad. The iPad app is free to use for playing. You can't level a character without a license but the free version of the app can open any character.

There use to be an android app that could view the .por file. I don't know if that is still around but it's worth a try.

The free software "Combat Manager" is able to pull data from a .por file for viewing. Another idea...
