Robe of Bardic Knowledge

My dm gave me a robe that allows me to make 3 knowledge checks per day as if i had the bardic knowledge ability... what I can seem to make it do ( cut&paste scripts or bootstrap the ability) is check my character level... its looking for the level from the item and i'm not sure how to make it check my character.
