Recal on toughness

How would I get Toughness to calu. 2 attributes instead on 1.
Example: (Say I want Strength + Vigor / 2) and then calu. from there. the starships in High-Space start like that.
 
You might might preclude Toughness and then add in your own version instead. I guess the question is what, if anything, is dependent on the Toughness trait? Maybe some of the Armor calculations... so I suppose that might be an actual situation in which to do a Replace? So maybe just replacing it and then calculating it as Str+Vig/2 instead would be the way to go.

Or, you could just take Tougness as it is divide by 2 and add Str, but I'd think the timing for that would have to be early, before anything like Armor is figured in.
 
Yeah, what Zarlor said. If you want it to be if a setting is checked you would also want to put a source on the new one and preclude the old one with that source.

Or are you asking for what the equation itself should be?
 
Definitely create a new version for the different value, with a different name. Precluding Toughness might cause some unintended side effects, so keep an eye out. Adding stuff is easy. When you start taking stuff away, however...
 
I just made a copy for starships in High-Space of the toughness trait and renamed it Starship Tough, The starships work a little differently and don't use the rule as characters do, so a lot of the things that I can just ingore as long as the info for the starships show up on the sheet with the right calu. to them, which I have working. so thanks for the help. I didn't preclude toughness just worked around it. Since Starships works differently, CapeCrusader, that's why I need to figure how grey out in the configure hero the boxes, when working with starships.
