Realm Works 1.0.39 and 1.0.40, and Major Realm Works Release Status

Updated all three systems with out issue, well updated two and installed fresh on my Surface Pro 3. Seems Windows 10 decided that a refresh was needed....Files getting stale and all.

Good thing this post is here. I received an email that set off a lot of phishing warning bells; the links did not go to wolflair.com and had obfuscated names, e.g.:

Not that the Realm Works user base is the largest pool in which to phish, but still, I'm pretty hesitant to click on links like that. The (purported) October Update also isn't on the Realm Works website (news and announcements), and the client itself doesn't automatically notice this download, which makes it seem even less official.

GREAT catch, ever thought of running courses for users?

Man if everyone was so savvy there wouldn't be 99% of the virus infections.

Just for more data: 199 is working fine on my tablet.

Windows 10 Home 32-bit
Intel HD graphics at 1368x768
Text scaling 100%

I believe the issues being run into are with font scaling. Within Windows 7, for example, right-click on the desktop background and select screen resolution. In the dialog that comes up, select "Make text and other items larger or smaller." From that dialog, you are probably set to something other than 100%. I am working on an update to fix this, but as a workaround, you could change this to 100%.

This resolved the problem for me. My font scaling was set at 125% by default (it wasn't manually adjusted by me I'm certain, because I have never used this feature).

It did fix it though and I was able to get into the realm and proceed with the work done on desktop.

Thank you very much for the early morning weekend support.

Indeed, turning off the font scaling (which I also hadn't known was turned on) fixed the issue, and the launcher now looks normal.

Thank you for the fast response!

Absolutely! I'm not sure what the rationale would be for using one version of a product on one computer and a different one on another computer, especially when data is being shared between them, so I never thought that the clarification should be made. Thanks for getting me to clarify!

Always expect users to do the unexpected!

I've released version 1.0.1040.200 that fixes the issue with the launch dialog when you have font scaling other than 100%. If you are running into this problem, please grab the latest version:
It is also available within Realm Works.

These are links that our newsletter service creates to allow us to track clicks on our links. The newsletter can be found here: http://www.wolflair.com/news/newsletter/october-2015/. It's legitimate.

The reason for the client not noticing the download are explained in the post itself. This release is fixing that exact problem.
