Read/Write Language?

How would I go about adding a Read/Write Language skill to the D20 data?

I should be able to specify Languages as being written, and then choose from them similar to Speak Language.

I should also be able to display the difference between a language I can speak and one I can Read/Write.

Any help? :)

Good question... I would also like to do this, but I don't know how one would handle that. The way I have been doing it is adding an other language and just writing in "XXX (Read/Write)"

I think I'm going to do a new list of languages with 'Spk-Xx' and 'R/W-' versions. The R/W skill will do like the existing Speak does and add to the languages known.

Is there a way to check the first few characters of a language and do a count for validation?

Not intentionally trying to dig up old threads, BUT it seems many of the features I would want HL to also do have been visited by others... but also seems the thread has "died on the vine" so to speak.
Has anywork been done on this idea?
IF not, as previous poster has also asked, is there a method I can do it via the "builder"?

The simplest way to do this would be to make a new list of languages that are designated to be the literacy portion.

And this would show under the languages sub grouping on the PC's printed sheet? Or is there some other things that would have to be "mod" to have it display there?
And thanks for Rapid response
