Rappan Athuk Encounter Files?

Ualaa

Well-known member
Are there actual encounter files, similar to other Adventure Paths where you can open the encounter and see which creatures are part of that encounter?

It seems the data package is letting you build your encounters for each conflict in the massive book... but I don't see any options for loading the encounters already constructed.

There doesn't seem to be any file to open within my Hero Lab folder, and if I search for FGG or Rappan, from within the Hero Lab folder, there are no hits.

Am I missing something?

I've purchased the Rappan Athuk files from the Frog God Games site, and it gave me the file: RappanAthuk_KS.hl

I double clicked on that file, and it did an import to my Pathfinder Game.

When I open Hero Lab, on the Background Tab, I can click on the Race field, and type in the filter 'Rappan' which then lists a bunch of races under 'Uncommon Races' which list the sources (RA/ToHC). I have purchased both the Rappan Athuk and Tome of Horrors Complete packages.

If I go to 'Tools' and then 'Manage Third Party Updates', it lists Rappan Athuk (V1.1, 55 files).

The import does say... files added or replaced by import...

There are a lot of files there...

FGG Rappan Athuk Level 0b.stock, FGG Rappan Athuk Level 0c.stock, FGG Rappan Athuk Level 1.stock...

Looks like quite a few files.
Not sure how to access these.

After the import, I receive the message: 'Import was successful and the new data files are ready for use. The new game system should now appear in the 'Select Game System' dialog.'

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game as the option to Load. Each of the other games gives the option to 'Download'. My choices are 4th Edition, Mutants & Masterminds 2nd edition, Savage Worlds, Alternity, Mutants and Masterminds 3rd edition, Shadowrun 4th edition, Call of Cthulhu, Pathfinder Beginner Box, Shadowrun (5th), 3.5 D20 System, Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Spirit of the Century, Fate Core, Sample Game System, and World of Darkness.

Any help would be appreciated.

I can tell you that the Community has not created any encounter files. If FGG did I am not sure. I can only tell you where they would appear. Either A) they loaded them as .stock files and you can then use the "Gamemaster->Show Encounter Builder" to see them. Or B) they loaded them as .por files and they will show up on windows in "\My Documents\Hero Lab\portfolios\pathfinder" folder. This based on the only two places the '.hl' file installer allows for placing .por or .stock files.

You would really need to get in touch with some at FGG actually to get full details.

Thank you for the information.

According to the import, there are .stock files somewhere.
I'll check the Encounter Builder.

Thanks.

It looks like the creatures, including named NPCs, are available as creatures in the Encounter Builder.

There doesn't seem to be a way to load/save anything there, but they can be imported into an encounter. Once there, they can be saved normally, as a POR file.

In the Tools menu, choose Explore Folders...Game System Data Folder.

If you save a .por file in that folder instead of the default folder, and give it the extension .stock instead of .por it will be added to the encounter builder.
