In Races of the Wild it states that I can take a Elf Ranger class at level 4 that would replace my normal animal companion with an Elven Hound. I've added the book in Hero Lab but I can't figure out how/where to get the Elven Hound. Does anyone have a tip?

Racial Substitution Levels

Racial Substitution levels are listed under class variants. That said, this particular one may not have been entered yet. If not, it's likely on my lengthy to-do list.
I'll have to look into this. It's been a while since I've played around with Animal Companion.
Well, this first thing I've learned is that it's basically impossible to modify the Ranger's Favored Enemy which is probably partly why this racial substitution level was never done.
