Racial requirements and the Race Builder

Sorry if this is already covered somewhere, but a quick search of the forum didn't turn up anything. Don't think this is technically a bug, so I'm posting here.

Anyway, I was making a variant of the Ratfolk race using the Race Builder to remove Rodent Empathy and add Swimming (sewer rat instead of desert rat). I then discovered that the Ratfolk feats and equipment are not allowed, presumably because the race isn't "Ratfolk" and doesn't have whatever the HeroLab tag is for that.

Can we change this mechanic so that racial requirements key off the racial subtype, at least for humanoids, instead of the specific race? That way we can use the race builder to make all sorts of variants of the standard races and yet allow them to use the same race-specific feats, equipment, spells, etc. as the "official" race.

Keep in mind that those are warning messages not hard stopping errors. If you add those feats they should work just fine. You will just have a warning message is all.

I'd recommend just making an adjustment that assigns the Ratfolk race tag to the hero, and adding that to your custom race.

I was trying to avoid using the editor, since I haven't managed to really understand how it works. "Racial type" isn't one of the standard adjustments already in the program, so I am having to live with the validation errors.
