question about armour-safe

on the GW WH forum some posted that it is possible for a saurus warrior te get a 3+ save??

this would be an Saurus with HW and S and the Quetzl spawning

with would give the results:
6+ save (scaly skin)
5+ save (quetzl spawning)
4+ save (Shield)
3+ save (HW and S bonus)

when I create this in the AB 3.1a I can't get an 3+ save.
is the guy on yhe WH forum wrong?

(i think he is)

Mounted units to not gain the benefit from HW + S (or two HW for that matter) special rule...that (those) rule(s) is exclusive to infantry models...

That aside he hasn't included situational save modifiers such as this one since you're just as likely to forget and apply it when you shouldn't be...

For the record, Quetzl is not the mounted spawning, it is the +1 scaly skin spawning. It essentially upgrades a saurus 6+ scaly skin "light armor" to 5+ scaly "heavy armor". With shield it is lowered to 4+, using hand weapons in CC makes it 3+.

It would be nice though if units on foot with HW and Shield provided a split stat on the profile, akin to the Strength spilt when using a great weapon. That way you don't forget to add in your +1 save bonus (as I have done on many occasions).

tenx both of you for the reply

indeed is the the 1+ save bonus in CC.... wich results in a 3+ save in CC. (i found it in the WH rule book
even a fellow player I play with did not know of this rule !! (he plays WH for 6 years)

its not included on the profile because it only applies in close combat... i might be able to add it as a split stat tho, i will add it to the list
