Does the license only last 1 year, and if so how much do u have to
pay to renew it?

The free updates portion only lasts one year. At the conclusion of one
year, you won't be able to get free updates anymore unless you renew.
However, you WILL be able to continue using the copy of the product that
you already have. So there is NO requirement that you must keep renewing
just to use the product. You can find complete details on Card Vault
licensing on our website at the URL below:

As for renewal pricing, that hasn't been finalized yet. However, I can
assure you it won't be a lot. It definitely won't exceed $9.99 and may be
substantially less. Compared to the traditional "big new release" model,
where existing users have to purchase the new version at a discount, this
is a much less expensive method for the consumer. An official announcement
with specifics will be made in the next month or two.

The goal with this model is pretty simple. Using this method allows us to
release smaller updates more frequently. If we used the traditional model
of a big new release, we'd (a) have to charge more for it and (b) have to
wait until we accumulated a large number of new features for the big
release. The latter issue means a long wait for the user to see any new
functionality appear. With the method we've adopted, it puts new
functionality into YOUR hands sooner, not to mention cheaper, and the net
result is ultimately a big win for the consumer. :-)

Hope this makes sense,
Rob

P.S. Just to make sure this is clear, the bottom line is that you are NOT
required to renew if you don't want to. It's entirely your call. :-)
