Problem with the comlink calculations?

Erich

Well-known member
I'm not sure if this is a problem or if i'm just totaly missing somthing here.
My character has a comlink with a browse program of rating 5 and no computer skills. However, in the comlink section of the character sheet the number of dice to roll for browsing is 7.
I thought the number of dice to roll was calculated by adding together the computer skill and the rating of the browse program. Am I missing an element of the calculation here?

If you move your mouse over the calculated dicepool, what does it say went into those calculations?

Well the calculation (thanks for that btw, I didn't know about that) shows the program rating + logic. But that dosen't make sense either, the dice pool shows +3 from logic. The characters logic is 4.

In that case, CeaDawg's post is on-point - what is the dicepool you roll for the computer skill if you're untrained in it? (Core Rulebook, pg 121 - "Defaulting")
