Printing Issues in OS X 10.8

Sorry if this is a repeat - my previous posts aren't showing up in the bugs thread.

I'm having clipping issues along the right edge when printing in OS X 10.8 using the standard HL character sheet. This occurs with both my standard printer (Canon MX880 or using CUPS-PDF), with or without using the HL preview, in both standard print mode or duplex. I do not have this problem using AncientOne's character sheet (browser handles layout) or with any other program on the system.

See attachments for details. The JPG is a scan of the output from the MX880 and the PDF is directly from CUPS-PDF (system thinks it's a Postscript printer).

Odd, I just got the OSX 10.8 loaded on my Macpro and went to see if I got the same issue you did with the standard HL character sheet. No right edge issue with that one or any of the other sheets in preview or regular print mode.

Hi drivingmenuts,

Does the problem still occur when you try to preview from the OS X print dialog (the one that opens in the "Preview" application)?

Please do the following:

1) Within Hero Lab, go to the Tools menu -> Diagnostics -> Enable Debug Tracing.
2) Quit and restart Hero Lab.
3) Print your "Goliad" character again. The problem with the edges being cut off should still occur.
4) Go to the Tools menu -> Explore Folders -> Program Data Folder. A Finder window should open.
5) Quit Hero Lab. (Please make sure to do this step!)
6) In the finder window that opened after step #4, there should be a file named "HeroLab.log". Please email me that file at colen@wolflair.com.

With the debug information in that file, I should be able to figure out what's going wrong when you print.

Also, what size of paper are you printing to?

Thanks for your help!

Yep. That's how I produced the PDF that I attached to the email.

When I print, it's on 8.5 x 11 paper.

I believe I replied to your email on October 8th (unless someone else happened to email me with a similar question) - did you receive the email? If not, I just resent it.

sorry about the delay

In regards to the portrait/landscape issue: I'm not given a choice of portrait or landscape when the system print dialog comes up. I get all the other options, just not that particular one.

Sorry about the delay in replying.

Hi,

Just to tell I have this problem too. I'm running the latest version of OSX.

But, it does work if you print through the preview panel (and also save as PDF).
