Primary Attack

Hey, I just built a kopru whose attacks are tail slap, 2 claws, bite, and a constrict attack.

His tail slap is his primary attack, but my HL reads his 2 claws and bites as his primaries. How do I fix it so that tail slap is his primary attack and gets the proper damage and attack bonus?

HL now follows full PFRPG rules for natural attacks and natural attacks are considered primary and secondary based on TYPE not which comes first or 2nd in the monster stat block.

That said you have some control in HL to set attack information. Some of that information is in the help file. A new one is listed in this thread where I had a few questions about natural attacks.

Hope that helps.

How exactly does Helper.Primary Tag work? Could you walk me through step by step on how to make tail slap the primary attack (or at least point me to where I can find some directions)? Thanks!

In the natural attacks section on the race, look at the entry for each of your natural attacks. One of the buttons you'll see on the right-hand side is "Tags". Click the tags button on your tail slap attack, "Click to Add Another Tag", and enter "Helper" as the "Group Id" and "Primary" as the "Tag Id", then click "OK".

Thanks a bunch!

UPDATE: I tried doing what you told me but HL said that Helper.Primary was an undefined tag. :(

Looks like the tag is actually Helper.NatPrimary. You also may need to add the tag Helper.NatTwoHand, but only if you want it to add 1.5Str damage. Otherwise it will be 1x Str damage. Adding Helper.NatOverSec gives a natural attack a -5 to hit and .5x Str damage.

I tried that and it worked! Thanks.
