Prevented from buying a license pls help

Hi

I live in Australia and think your product is great.

I want to buy a license but i only have a visa debit card, which you do not accept. So i went out and got a pre-paid Visa Credit Card ( works just like a normal credit card but has a pre-paid limit )

Tried to buy a license and got the same message as before - " your bank doesnt support security codes " I doubt that is the problem as I know the one that supplies my Debit card does and i got the same message with that. Suspect it is generating that code but it is not the problem.

I have a valid credit card and a stong desire to give LoneWolf money please can this be resolved.

Thanks

Dave

PS. there are no valid retailers of your product in WA, Valhalla games went bust last year :(

I just checked everything on our server, and the error message is correct. When our server contacts your bank to verify the credit card information you've provided, your bank refuses to provide any verification of the address or the security code on the card. Since your bank provides no verification, we have no way of knowing that the card is being used legitimately. As a result, our server is refusing the transaction.

Many years ago, we weren't so strict, and we had major problems with stolen credit cards being used on purchases. So we were forced to become more cautious.

The problem is that there are still quite a few banks whose computer systems are antiquated and don't provide any verification of the address or security code. Visa actually prints the security code on the back of the card, but it's up to your bank to actually *use* the security code and verify it for merchants. If your bank doesn't do that, then there isn't anything we can do on our end. In this instance, you bank is not providing that capability. :-(

The only thing I can suggest is to have a friend or family member with a credit card from a different bank place the order for you. Then you can repay them.

Sorry for the hassle, but the problem is with your bank. They literally do not provide verification of the address and security code for merchants. This makes using your credit card very *non*-secure for electronic purchases, so please use caution with such transactions in the future.

Ok thanks for checking, i wonder if its a problem for all Aussie banks, I tried with three different banks credit cards. Have since used a UK one and now have the license :D

It all depends on the bank. And I believe smaller banks sometimes utilize larger banks as a clearinghouse for credit cards, so it's possible all three banks you used are tied through the same major bank, and that bank doesn't support the address and security code verification.

In any case, I'm glad you got it sorted out!
