Post Links to your Custom Sheets here

Yes it does. I wasn't quite sure where I wanted to put that info. Perhaps the Faction name could appear at the top and the more detailed info could appear near the XP totals on page 2.

I would suggest you make it look the same way a PFS sheet already looks like.

You can find it in the PFS Guide Here

BETA version of character sheet for you

All,

I've been working on my new character sheet and I think it's far enough along to share and get feedback. Here's what you need to know:

  1. It's BETA... meaning that I'm still improving it. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
  2. It is intended to be "complete"... meaning that it contains detailed text on traits, feats, special abilities and spells. In other words, the resulting sheet may be larger than some players want or need if you print all pages.
  3. It has only been tested on IE 9. It will almost certainly not work on older browser versions.
  4. It is designed for 8.5x11 pages with 0.5-inch magins on all sides. Be sure to set those margins in your browsers 'page setup' dialog.
  5. You may also need to enable the 'print background colors and images' setting in your page setup dialog.
  6. To install, just unzip and put the resulting 'rt_complete' folder in your Hero Lab\customoutput\pathfinder directory.

Thanks, and I'd love to know what you think!

Roger

This is a fairly silly question but if i create a custom output I can't stand how do I remove it from the output list?

PS you should package your output.

With Hero lab running.
drop down the "Tools" menu.
choose "Launch HLExport"
From the HLExport window drop down the "Files" menu
choose "Create Custom Output Export"
from the Open dialog box find your Output.xml
follow the directions from there and you will have a nice user friendly .hl that can be doubleclicked for install.

I just tested it on Safari, Chrome and Firefox 7. The first 2 pages just error out and don't show up. The error console is barfing on your Left, Top, Bottom etc with the value.

The pages with the explanations on them Pg 3 - etc. The type face is quite small. Please consider enlarging it to something that's readabale without a magnifier. Also consider Cambria as one of the default fonts. It looks nice and is installed on every windows box that has Vista or later installed. Bookman doesn't look good that small IMHO.

PS find the docs inside of HL for how to package your output. It makes it much easier for novices to install.

Community Custom Sheets <= Click to download

I have updated the link above to include ALL the sheets so far. I put back up Sebacore's original sheet as many seem to be using that as a launch point. For each sheet I also included an example of what it looks like printed to try and help others to find the one they like.

For those with sheets feel free to email the .hl file when/if you have any updates and I will post it to the site. If others have new ones feel free to send me those too.

I can be reached at shadowchemosh (at) yahoo (dot) com.

Thank You to everyone that is sharing there custom sheets. It is very much appreciated.

That actually seems to be an issue with the HeroLab XML, and I haven't found any way to compensate for it.

BTW Have you (or anyone else) been able to get the faction functions to work? I added it to my CS (in a newer build than we have here), but I can't get any faction to actually display. I even tried making a Pathfinder Society (the RPGA clone) character, but still nothing appears in faction/@name.

Just throwing it outthere. Perhaps it's bugged or more likely I am missing something.

Yeah, there are functions that I wish I could output. ie I would love to have a value for XP to Next level. If there wasn't 3 speeds of advancement I could do it procedurally. I guess if there was a way to find out that leveling speed from HL we could still write a bit of code that would figure it out. Since they have started this custom sheets we should probably start a list of things that we wish we had tags for.

It's there in factions/faction/@name, which you can see in the XML file generated through "Generate XML file".

Thanks, got the syntax of that wrong. I am more of a hack than an expert with this kind of stuff. I do have the XML file of all the Pathfinder tags open in my Text editor (go go Notepad++) I have the window split between the XSL of my sheet and the List of Tags for easy reference.

Updated BETA of character sheet

Here's an update to my Pathfinder "complete" character sheet. Thanks to everyone who provided input on the previous beta version.

The changes in this beta version are:

  • Now packaged as an .hl file (which is wrapped in a .ZIP file to satisfy the upload requirements of this board).
  • Updated to work on Google Chrome (and likely other browsers in addition to the original IE 9, but I haven't personally tested others). NOTE: Chrome does not support printing background colors, so the sheet will not print from Chrome exactly as it appears on the screen.
  • Various readability improvements (fonts, font sizes, formatting of feat text, etc.)
  • Inclusion of combat-maneuver details.
  • Inclusion of money.

This will probably be the final "beta" version... the next update will be 1.0. As before, any and all feedback is appreciated!

Roger,

Love the sheet. Nice and clean. Uses less ink this way. When I printed up a PC or two I noticed that the header for "Combat Maneuver Details" kept showing up on the very bottom of the first sheet just under the weapon listing. The info for CM showed on the next page. I had to change my bottom margin up to .8 to get the header to show on the correct page. I usually try to set mine to print as much on a sheet as possible. Using .25 margins all around.

Thanx,

Kizan

Thanks Kizan! Just to confirm... Did you try to print at 0.5" margins? That's the layout it's designed for. Also, what browser did you use?

Roger,

When I print using .5 margins all around I get half a CM Details and Magic Item Summary header at the bottom. I'm using IE9. I've got a 5th level dwarven fighter with eight weapons on the list. Did it list somewhere the margins I was to use? I didn't see it.

Is there a way to add source books and pages?

Thanx,

Kizan
