SR 5th ed. Post-creation negative abilities are bought off with zero karma

Due to things happening in the game, my character now has a 10-point Insomnia. He shouldn't get the karma bonuses as if it was created at character creation, but it should be noted down as the 10-point version, both for the purposes of keeping track of how bad it is, and for cost of paying it off. I'm pretty sure however there's no way to do this... Am I missing something obvious?
 
Adding a zero point negative quality is fine (via the advance you mentioned), but it a) doesn't keep track of what it's "cost" (i.e. level of the quality) was and b) paying it off is also zero cost!
