Player Edition and GM Edition on same PC

Can you run both the Player Edition and the GM edition on the same PC? I can't see why not, but I thought I should ask before trying.

I am currently creating my Realm on a desktop, but I also have a laptop. Realm Works is not currently on the laptop, but I do intend to link it up (I know I can't edit the Realm on them both at the same time, don't worry!)

But my players haven't currently invested in the Player Edition, though I'm hoping they will once they see how it works and the advantages it will offer them.

What I thought I'd do is to lend them the laptop for the next session so they can use that, but obviously I don't want them to see the GM stuff.

So is that possible?

The capabilities are tied to the Realm Works account, and the Realm Works account being used is tied to a Windows user account. Make a second user on your laptop and log in with a Player Edition account and they'll be good to go. The program itself is the same.

So I set up a new user on the laptop (I can do that, it's simple) and install a copy of the Players Edition?

Sorry, I missed that you don't have Realm Works installed on your laptop. The software is the same between GM and Player edition; the difference is the account. (You don't install "Player Edition" or "GM Edition", there's just "Realm Works".)

So yes, install Realm Works and log in with a Player Edition Realm Works account. If you want to also use GM features with your GM account, you'll want to have separate Windows users. (You want a Windows user for each different Realm Works user.)

Hope this makes sense. :)
