Pathfinder Plans

The suspense is killing me! :)

What news is there on the Pathfinder front AND magical super secret project fronts?!

*bounces with excitement*

*Edit* just read the thread over in "general hero lab" about end of march. I'm a sad panda, but understandable. Still hot on Bestiary in Pathfinder, though! LET ME GIVE YOU MONIES!!! *sob* PWEASE!

;)

Its my understanding that things have been pushed back until March at least, for the "special" project, and that's only as far as announcements go. I would definitely like the bestiary to be available soon... I'm considering a purchase of d20Pro and it'd be great if I could just export various monsters into it, instead of manually entering it all in...

The new project does sound cool though, and I hope there will be full Pathfinder support available at launch. ;)

What is the new project?

Thread with info is here: http://forums.wolflair.com/showthread.php?t=9531

Based on comments made so far, my guess is a system neutral campaign management software with built in references(gm screen etc), officially licensed in a similar manner to Hero Lab. Anyway, that's what I'm hoping, as those of us who use laptops in our games can obviously see the huge benefit in such. It's difficult to juggle table space with a laptop, gm screen, and rulebooks etc...

True that. While I much prefer paper books, a laptop is much lighter that hauling all my books around. And less chance of leaving a critical book at home.

With regards to Pathfinder, we finally got word back from Paizo on some important topics we brought up with them last year. Unfortunately, the information we received simply sparked many new questions. The good news is that Paizo is clearly looking at a long term solution for Pathfinder digital tools. The bad news is that we have lots more to discuss with Paizo before we can officially announce anything further for Pathfinder.

That being said, I can definitely assure you that the Bestiary and playtest classes are being actively worked on. We just can't officially announce anything until we talk further with Paizo. We want to make sure anything we announce is in line with both our long-term vision for Hero Lab and Paizo's long-term vision for Pathfinder.

Thanks for the update Rob. Please let us know when we can expect the Bestiary. Once the Bestiary is available I will recommend this tool to our group (6 licenses in total) for immediate purchase. I am going to move forward with PCGen until we hear back from you.

Thanks,

rom
