Overriding the "Must" External Attribute with an Option(?)

Is there any way to override the "must" external
attribute of a unit by selecting an option? Right now
what I have set up is that Chaos Terminators "must"
have right and left arm weapons (to remind people to
assign them). But Slaaneshi Termis can have either
Noise Marine weapons or Termi Weapons. But the Noise
Marine weapons take up two hands (except the Doom
Siren) and they may only be given one category, so I
have to be able to deselect the "must" external
attribute on the Terminators when they are given Noise
Marine weapons (by using the Noise Marine weapon
option) to eliminate the neccessity of taking a
useless HtH weapon for the Termis (as with Noise
Marine weapons taking up two hands they cannot use the
HtH weapons). BTW, these are for the 2nd edition
rules systems, so please no one chime in on how it
works in 3rd (the specifics are unknown to me about
3rd and may remain so ;))

In a similar vein, is it possible to assign more than
one category using the catg command to units? It
seems to be what the catg command is there for, but it
does not allow me to assign extra categories to
anything.

Thanks.

Use the -when qualifier. For example:

must:categ=Skrill@max=2-when=Gibbon

Will mean the rule is only applied when the unit has the type "Gibbon".

Just use it more than once. I.e.:

catg:one
catg:two
catg:three

Or whatever the syntax is.

Okay.

Armybuilder isn't liking this. When I have an option already
assigned to a category (for example, Option A (lightning claws) is
assigned category "RightArmWp") and I try to specify an additional
category (by typing catg:LeftArmWep to make Lightning Claws fulfill
both requirements) the program won't let me save the change. It
tells me there is an invalid data field in the external atribute
field. This also happens when I try to assign additional categories
to units. Is this only on my program this is happening? I did
download and run 2.1, so I know I'm on the latest version of AB.

What syntax are you using? You have to specify the ABBREVIATION of the
category and not the category name. If you have V2.0b, view the definition
file contents to find out what the abbreviation should be.

That's a weapon category, as opposed to an option category. The two are
similarly named, but do totally different things. :)

Unit categories always have 3-letter abbreviations, like "her", "sor",
"wiz" etc.

Well got it for the unit categorys, but it still
doesn't like the extra option categories (there's no
abbreviations and it doesn't like the fully typed
name, oh well). No worries, I've programmed around
it.
Thanks guys!

The "catg" attribute ONLY applies to UNIT categories. There is no way
within AB to re-assign option categories. An option can only ever belong to
one single category, since the category is used as the primary sort key
when sequencing the evaluation (and display) of options.

Thanks, Rob
