NPC Challenge Rating in HL

So I took the chance and bought HL this morning. I'm really hoping I wont have to re-buy to get the Mac-Native version this summer, but I needed to speed my prep time....

Anyway, all the PFRPG NPCs I am creating list their CR as Class level -1. Is this a bug or did I miss something in the rulebook? Has the CR=CL equation been abandoned?

Thanks,

Dan

Yes, that changed between d20 and Pathfinder - it's now CR = CL - 1 (- another 1 if you have any NPC class levels)

However, if said NPC has gear equivalent of PC Wealth by level, then its CR goes up by 1. (not accounted for i HL I think)

NPC Gear Adjustments: You can significantly increase or decrease the power level of an NPC with class levels by adjusting the NPC's gear. The combined value of an NPC's gear is given in Creating NPCs on Table: NPC Gear. A classed NPC encountered with no gear should have his CR reduced by 1 (provided that loss of gear actually hampers the NPC), while a classed NPC that instead has gear equivalent to that of a PC (as listed on Table: Character Wealth by Level) has a CR of 1 higher than his actual CR. Be careful awarding NPCs this extra gear, though—especially at high levels, where you can blow out your entire adventure's treasure budget in one fell swoop!

Not automatically but you can add the CR on the personal tab.

Of course, money in general isn't automatic in Hero Lab.
