New Topic for Link Crashes

Every time I try to make a new topic that will link either to a map pin or highlighted text the program crashes. I have to make the topic then go back to link it. Anyone else having this problem? I have sent the bug report each time it pops up.

That sounds like the same issue I noticed a couple of weeks ago when I was putting some maps and linked data together. I'm not 100% sure since I was pretty tired that day but I think it was the same thing.

To be sure I understand... are you saying that the steps are
highlight some text
right-click
select "Choose new custom link for selection"
click the "+" on the dialog "Select Content Link"

it crashes?

I think most of us:

select the text
use the Ctrl-Q shortcut to create a new topic
let the automated linking suggest the topic

I know that's how I work.

Silveras, I tend to use the mouse a lot more than keyboard shortcuts simply because I don't want to use the mouse to hightlight then move to the keyboard to type the shortcut then move back to the mouse. As I understand the process it should work with either the keyboard shortcut or by using the mouse to get to the menu.

Ruhar... agreed, it should work the same either way... however, I wanted to be clear on the method because you asked whether others were seeing the same thing, and I think you will get fewer responses because it seems (from the previous discussions people have posted) that most of us use the Ctrl-Q keyboard shortcut.

I just tried it your way (without ctrl-q) and it worked fine. It is probably a bug in your RW gnawing away you. If you haven't already, submit an support ticket.

The crash ruhar reported will be fixed in the next release. It is caused by having "Group Similar Kinds of Topics" unchecked on the selection dialog and then clicking in the title area of the list of topics.
