New Spell/Magic Item doesn't show up in the list

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but sometimes when I create a custom spell or magic item it doesn't show up in the list at all. Any ideas on what I need to check to make sure that it shows up? (Sometimes, items/spells that I create do show up -- I can't seem to figure out anything consistent that is/isn't happening.)

Any assistance would be appreciated.

When you create something, make sure you hit Test Now or reload the program. If your new thing has a source, and you do not see it available on a character, make sure to check that the source is enabled for that character.
