New Module Purchase

Hey there, a friend just puchased Hero Lab and when they try to install it it only gives the d20 module as an option. They want to use the World of darkness module as their primary one and a Pathfinder module once he gets the product working.

Anyone know why only the one module, d20, is available to be chosen as the primary module during install?

Short answer: He's still running V1.0 and needs to update.

Long answer: Your friend most likely purchased Hero Lab at a retailer, installed it, and decided to ignore the prominent message at launch that says "Get the latest updates before continuing" (or something similar). So he's still running the V1.0 software on the CD, which only has d20 as an option. If he uses the Updates mechanism to install the latest version, he'll then find all the proper game systems listed when activating his license. I'll let you decide how much chastising is appropriate for having ignored the prominent message to get the latest updates. :-)

Ah, cool.. Thanks. I'll talk to him about it. If he has already messed it up though, is it possible to have the module changed in the license? hes not very tech savy.

Yes, we can fix it for him. He'll need to email support, providing his license number and a brief explanation of what occurred. Nancy ought to be able to switch him over to the correct initial game system that he wants.
