Hello my friend,

I just have not been able to figure it out. According
to my definition file, a standard bearer can take a
magical standard. I tried changing unit category, and
it still will not let me assign items to the unit in
Army Builder. What am I doing wrong?? I have been
through the tutorial and the army builder construction
kit .PDF, many times. I would appreciate you helping me with
this. Once I get this figured out, I am sure I can get
the rest of the files done.

Thanks,

Josh McDonald

check the spec: local unit attribute in the unit. If the unit is not part of the correct group to see the item you may have to use this attribute to force availability.
Cheers,

What is the error you get from AB? If you get "The unit cannot take
any special items" (or something along those lines :-) Then you need
to check the number of special items allowed for the unit.
In ABCreate, find the unit and check the # items property. On a
newly created unit this is set to 0.

If you CAN open up the special items screen, but there's nothing
there to choose from, then you need to check that the unit is able
to take the particular special item group (as per Grahams message).

Basically make sure the # Items field is greater than 0 and add a
spec: local attribute to the unit to allow items from the item group
that the banner belongs to (if the Banner is in the "Magic Items"
group with abbreviation "magc", then you need spec:+magc in the
local attributes for the unit.)

Enjoy,
Russell.
