Need a character PDF translated over to Hero Lab

cyderak

Well-known member
I just bought a PDF of a new character class called an Engineer. Its basically a character who builds golems and then can ride inside them like a mech-type situation.

Is there anyone who could translate it over to Hero Lab for me?

I would be willing to give a copy of the Engineer PDF to the person who is willing to translate the Engineer PDF over to Hero Lab for me.

Here is the link to the PDF I bought on DrivethruRPG.com : http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/167618/Four-Horsemen-Present-Base-Class-Engineer

I could give it a try. Have entered multiple new character classes. Don't know for sure until I see the character.

cyderak: Creating a whole new full-fledged class in Hero Lab is usually a significant project, even without real life or other projects getting in the way. Not only do you need to make the class itself, you need to create and test every individual class feature, and those class features can become hairy little projects in and of themselves. It can easily eat up a weekend or more, and that's assuming there are aren't any archetypes or favored class bonuses to implement.

I'm not familiar with this Engineer class, but if it's anything like other classes I've seen with similar themes, I would assume it's fairly complex and has a lot of custom options. Don't be surprised if this takes a while. Take it from someone who's probably implemented 15-20 classes in HL.

+1 to what IronGolem said. And don't forget that the person doing the work first has to read the entire document and understand all of the mechanics before beginning work on it. You don't want to spend a lot of time only to have to start over because of something that wasn't considered up front.

I wasn't asked if she was finished. I was asking if she had made any progress.

No hurry......was just curious....... I'm just excited.

I realize it is a daunting task.

It IS a complicated class to run and because I am the DM it would simplify my job tremendously if my Engineer NPC was rolled up in Hero Lab instead of me flipping through books constantly for class features.

Sorry about not being in touch. Been out of town, sister was in a bad car accident. For awhile there they were not sure if she was going to make it. Need to get my head settled. Don't want to make any mistakes on the base class and my college homework (a lot riding on it).

Sorry to hear that Angela. ....... no hurry.

My buddy commandeered my copy of Hero Lab anyways and now we're waiting for a re-set on the license so I can re-install it on my computer.

So like I said, no hurry.

One important consideration... is the data in the PDF OGL?

From the PDF:

DECLARATION OF OPEN CONTENT:
All game mechanics, proper names of classes, prestige classes, archetypes, feats, skills, spells, magic items, monsters, rituals, artifacts AND OR
the names of abilities presented within this book are Open Game Content as described in Section 1(d) of the License.

Been doing a bit here and there between classes. Now with this new update messing with the files I have to wait a bit for it to be straightened out.
