My Curiosity... Again

So, I've been adding some gear to round out my game in the Editor, and I've noticed this Custom Gear? check box. The help on it is not very enlightening, as what I thought it meant isn't the case. My burning curiosity wants to know why that selection is there and what does it actually do?

Also, is there any way to source spells? I've been trying to get the domain spells, bonus spells for specialized wizards, and racial spells to have a source, but all I get is the open/close parens "()". Spells made specifically for a class are sourced; i.e. "(Wiz)" or "(Cle)". I've been trying to modify sSource, but that doesn't seem to work unfortunately.

I have only 14 days left before I leave for Gen Con, and entirely too much to accomplish during that time. Please bump this in mid-August.

I'm sorry, but I don't find any "Custom Gear?" checkboxes in any of the editor tabs. If you meant "Custom Type?", while purchasing a "Musical Instrument" on the Gear tab, look above the how much to pay information on the right-hand side - you can specify "Flute" or "Drum".

You'll need to add SpellType tags - the contents of this field are set to the abbreviations of any sSource tags.

Ah, I see, I never saw that. I expected it to be in the actual gear window (much like Custom Gear, etc. creates a text field). Counter-intuitive.

It works, but it also displays an error when I give it a type.

"Cannot set dynamic linkage 'table' to a non-existent pick
Location: 'eval' script for Component 'BaseSpell' (Eval Script '#4') near line 7"

I don't think anything other than the base spellcasting classes can be typed to spells, unfortunately.
