I just bought Pathfinder & bestiary data files for the Legacy of Fire adventure path I want to play.

First stock hero (monster) I looked at was the Pugwampi Gremlin. It seems to have the toughness feat, but is not in the stat block of the Pugwampi.

How can I remove this feat?

Legacy of Fire uses 3.5 rules not Pathfinder so when the race was updated to Pathfinder it was given toughness. Check out the Pathfinder version of the Gremmlin, Pugwampi at d20pfsrd to see it does have that feat.

Go to the Background tab and to the right of the Race: is a check box called "Customize?". Click on that and the pre-set skills and feats will be removed allowing you to set those yourself.
