Modern Day Structure?

Dayspire

Member
I just purchased Realmworks a few days ago, and I was initially confused by the 'structure file' option when I created a new realm. Off of this, I have a few quick questions.

1. This is for importing something I purchased off of the content store, correct? (or perhaps importing something of my own)

2. I've seen a lot of evidence that there will be Pathfinder content available, but what about the default Mutants and Masterminds world? (Emerald City, as an example).

3. If there aren't plans for this, will there be a modern day structure file made available?

Thank you, and forgive my newbness.

Right now there isn't a lot of content known to be coming besides PF.

To directly answer your questions:
1. Yes. You would get a structure file from somewhere or make one and then create a realm using it.

2. Your best bet for an answer to that would be to ask Green Ronin directly. As they have a HL license they must be at least aware of RW but who knows.

3. The Other and System Neutral options can work as the basis for a modern realm. They certainly are good places to start world building until something better comes along. The system conversion tool is pretty good. A more directly applicable "modern" structure file may be available if someone makes one and puts it out there for the community but as far as I know LWD does not plan to make one part of the product.

For just getting started, you can safely ignore the "Structure File" until you get your bearings.

There are already standard game system choices when creating a Realm. The Structure File would be used when you want something other than the standard.

You could tweak the contents of the standard Category and/or Article definitions, for example. If you want to re-use those in a new, empty Realm, then you can export just the Structure to a Structure File... and use that when creating a new Realm.

But, as I said, until you have some ideas of things you might want to do differently from the standard... there's no need to worry about Structure files.
