Modern Beta - Done

Ok, I didn't get everything I wanted done, done, but there are some more bug fixes. Also still working on the Blood and Brains. The advanced classes I made into Archetypes to see how that works. Let me know what yall find and I'll try and have a better update next week.

"How to install a .user file

•Download the .user file from the list below.
•By default you should have Hero Lab installed to the program files folder. So place the .user file into the following directory:

◦C:\Progam Files\HeroLab\data\pathfinder
•Start Hero Lab and select the Pathfinder RPG game.
•Depending on the author they may have all the new material setup on a specific Source setting that you will have to set in the Configure Your Hero window."
 
BTW - I have been working on the dataset, (mostly the Occ traits), should have a good update with in a week or so. But any help inputting data whould be GREAT! Still need the advance class put in. Anybody.......lol

More updates. Getting all the OCC traits to work like the MSRD. I think I am done for now with Blood and Brains. More updates coming! Still could use some help with the advance classes.....

Big update

This is a re-imaging of the MSRD for the Pathfinder Role Playing Game. The dataset can be downloaded below:

This is a beta file and is not yet complete . At the moment, only the Core MSRD, (minus the advanced classes, they are coming later on), were converted over, (there are place holder files for the other settings).

Some rules were changed to fit easier into the Pathfinder setting. I will go over a few to help navigate through the dataset.
• Occupations are now traits. They should all work like the MSRD now.
• Action Points are at the moment left out, (you can include them by checking the Action Point Box in the Configure Hero screen), but until I can find a work around for Action Points, all Feats, Talents and/or Abilities were adjusted to fit the change.
• Wealth and Reputation Bonus is now Skills. All the gear and items have the original Wealth DC, but there was no real way of converting everything to gold and/or work in a Wealth roll otherwise. It’s not perfect, but close. All Occupations Traits and Feats have been adjusted to give the skills a bonus when need.
• All classes get an AC bonus every other level. There is a check box in the Configure Hero screen to “add or not add” this ability.
• The Base classes (the only ones in at the moment) are listed under NPC classes and all go up to 20th level with added new Talents.
• Feats that are similar to a Pathfinder feat were not copied over. Just the new feats were put in. There is no archaic weapon, and or firearm feats. See below.
• Weapons – Are assigned either: simple, martial and/or exotic weapons. Hand guns are basically Simple Weapons and Long Arms fall into Martial Weapons. If a weapon is Exotic, is just another Exotic weapon.
• Skills – Skills were already rolled over into the Pathfinder setting were removed. Treat injury was rolled over into heal. Navigation rolled over to Survival, Knowledge: theology and philosophy was rolled over to Knowledge: Religion.
• FX – same as feats, whatever was similar to a Pathfinder magic item and/or spell was not copied over. Just the new items and spells were put in.
• Weapon Enhancements are under Item Powers, (like adding keen to a weapon).
• There are a few Occult Languages added and are listed under Secret language.
• I also add from RPGObjects – “Blood and Brains” I have the character backgrounds, feats, FX items, spells and I add two Advance classes as Archetypes for Ranger and Sorcerer. IDK if it works well or not. If not I’ll change them back.
• Anyways a lot of bug fixes from gear, weapons, feats, etc. If you find more please let me know!
That is all I can think of at the moment. More will be coming later on, but this is a good start for the community.

I would argue that handguns and long arms should be simple and that weapons that require military training, such as automatic weapons (auto setting on assault rifles, etc), support weapons (MG, RPG, M34, M208, etc) be martial weapons and the rare stuff be exotic.

Just some thoughts. I certainly do not think handguns are any easier to use or train than long arms, and in fact, if any were "easier" to use than the other, would go for long arms (esp shotguns) over handguns - if I had to break the tie.

I agree with you and I think there is some mods where I did change a few, (really no diff in fireing most hand guns then a shot gun, etc). But I that as just a "game mech", you have to draw the line somewhere. Anyways it's an easy change in the editor.
 
Another question....is there anyway to see the 1-20 progression of these classes on a chart? Also, were the feats from occupations removed?

I built a lvl 5 Tough Hero for fun, and I really like the new Talents. Way better than the originals.

Doing a Strong hero now, shouldn't he be a d10? Or did you not tie the Hit Die to BAB?

The Occupation feats are there, but most of them were weapon feats and were not added, (I was thinking it wasn’t needed anymore). Now that I think about it I guess I need to add the simple and martial weapons feats to replace what was missing. I’ll put it in the next update. Thanks for the bug! Please let me know if you find any more!

Glad you like the new Talents, I was thinking of changing the base classes back to the MSRD to fit everyone else's conversations on the net. So I really haven't really charted the classes. I would like to follow someone's conversation chart, but most are a strait copy of the MSRD. I have been looking for OGL of the Base classes that go up to level 20 that has already been done, but no luck so far. Let me know if you find one! Thanks again!

Class Bug

Seems there is a class bug. If I have bootstaped a class ability to a custom ability, it shows an error. I fix a few, I am sure there are more. Please let me know hwat yall find!

Used this to make some versions of the gang from Scoobie Doo for a Halloween game. It worked pretty good. The stuff from the Blood and Brains dataset was pretty good. Thanks for all the hard work. :)
 
When I try and load the rulesets, I get this error as HeroLabs tries to compile them. and it won't let me use the datasets.

"File: PFRPG_Modern_Core.user (line 6381) - Thing - Duplicate Record Encountered ('fLowProfil')"
 
I created the Swashbuckler Prestige Class if anyone is interested. Here is the Modern Arcana Data file I put it in...
I can't get Find the mark to work properly though.
