Missing feat

I am not sure what update it happened in, but I just opened an older character and found the feat tab was in red. Looking at the feats it listed Self-Sufficient in red. The popup description said it was an invalid selection.

I did a little research and its listed in the core rule book. Going through Herolab, the Self-Sufficient feat itself is missing from the list.

Re-open the configure hero form from the character menu. Scroll through the list of options there. Did you turn on the Consolidated skills rules from Pathfinder Unchained?

The self-sufficient feat isn't allowed under that optional rule.

What user content have you installed? Did you add something that might have overwritten a feat from the core rulebook?

Actually, I might has something precluding. So that affects even if you have not selected that addon in the character options?

I have the star wars d20 addon, but it is not checked for that character.

Update: Checked that file in the editor and I do not see the feat as precluded. There are precluded skills, but they don't seem to be affected the same way, they show up normally.

Well *Hidden always happens regardless of source. *Preclude would only happen if a specific source was turned on. A "Replace Thing ID" will also ALWAYS happen regardless of which source is turned on.

These are things makers of .user files need to understand and work with when making addons. :( Sounds like the used *HIDDEN instead of *Preclude. I would let the maker of the star wars d20 files know...

I can alter the file if needed, so no biggy there. But I see nothing listed under the hidden area, and while star wars has a Self-Sufficient skill, theo ne listed has a unique ID.

Was this in d20, not Pathfinder?

If so, I'll move this thread to the correct place. You originally posted in the general hero lab forum, but you were talking about a Pathfinder feat, so I moved it here, but I guess it's a d20 feat, too.

Could there be something in the .user files that is a replacement for the Self-Sufficient feat?

If so, does that replacement have a source that you haven't turned on? Replacements are applied when choosing the game system. Sources aren't applied until after that, when a particular game system is loaded.

I found it, an area I have never touched in the feat itself saying replace thing ID. Never seen it before, just thought to look at the feat and see if anything in there could alter that. Now to see if that works.

Update: Well that did it.

Thanks for the help. I'm not really much of a programmer, so don't think of all variables, so a point in the right direction helps to know where and what to look for.
