Hi, for whoever is responsible for maintaining the MWDA files. Am I
wrong, or is there no way to distinguish from the 3 types of unit in
the filters? There's movement type, and this works to separate Mechs
from the rest, but things get murky when you try to differentiate a
wheeled infantry piece from a wheeled vehicle. I'm new at this game,
but is there any way to search for "just infantry" or "just
vehicles"?

Thanks

Abilio

I just went through looking at the pretty pictures, and if I filtered for
Foot I got all infantry, whereas if I filtered for Hover + Tracked +
wheeled I got all vehicles. The only model I was unsure about is the 'laser
battery', which is Foot type but has wheels on the model.

Which 'wheeled infantry piece's are you referring to? Is it important to
distinguish them from the wheeled vehicles, since they both have the
'Wheeled' locomotion type?

Thanks,

Yes. Scout ATVs, for example, are infantry in spite of all
appearences. The thing that separates infantry from vehicles is the
base and the base alone. If it's the small round base it's infantry,
if it's a longer base it's a vehicle. There are several separate
rules for infantry and vehicles (infantry takes damage when a mech
breaks away from it, for example).

Thanks for looking into it

Fair enough. I'll see what can be worked out for the next release of the
data files.

Thanks,
