When creating categories, I can choose one from the tree, begin to edit, and then select another one from the tree (to look at for reference, for example) and then go back to the one I am editing. RW marks the one I am editing with an asterisk and only when I try to leave the category screen I am prompted to save the edits I have made. I am only allowed to have one open for editing at any given time, but I can freely move about the various categories in the list without saving that one.
When creating topics, I can choose one from the tree and begin to edit, but if I select another one from the tree I have to save my edits before I can proceed. This means that if I want to refer to another topic I have to save, look at the other topic, move back to the topic to edit, enable editing and then continue. If I am cutting and pasting a number of snippets from one topic to another the constant prompts, saving and re-enabling edit mode is annoying.
I know that the internal mechanism for categories and topics is different, but to the user the interfaces are identical. Such a radically different behaviour between the two is really jarring.
I'd like to see the Topic editing screen behave like the Category editing screen.
