License Comain Error?

I'm getting a validation error when I try and add new licenses (both fake and real) to my character. It says I need to choose a domain, but I don't see any option to do so and am not entirely sure what Herolab wants. When I first made the character I had a couple license and didn't have the error crop up and those licenses are still there.

Any thoughts??
 
If you're in advancement mode, when you're purchasing a license, there will be a space at the top for you to fill in what it's a license for - a gun license, a license for the Attack program, etc. Be careful to purchase things that have information to fill in using the "Customize" button, not "Add" or "Add & Close", and make sure to fill in that information before you say "OK" to that purchase.
 
I don't see where to add licenses in the Advancement screen???

When I try and do it through the social screen I do see where to type in the license type, and have done that but I still get the validation error "Domain must be specified".
 
It has to be done while purchasing the item - once purchased, you can't change a gun license into an attack program license, and unfortunately, if you leave the type of license blank while purchasing it, you can't fill it in later (this is on our to-do list to fix).

So, I recommend selling the licenses with error messages for full price, and then re-purchasing them, making sure to use the "Customize" button to purchase them. While purchasing them, make sure to fill in the type of license before you press "OK".
 
Can you make the items things that require customization? That how we handled some things in PCGen. When you attempt to purchase them and move it to your inv, the customization screen pops up.
 
That's what we do. The problem is that there's a way to purchase them that skips opening the customization form, and we haven't had the time to modify things so that it can detect that the customization is incomplete and not let you exit the customization until it is complete.
 
Thanks! That did it. I was looking in the customization form but was plugging the name of the license in in the name block but not in the block next to the license rating.

Why the two blocks anyway? For real licenses there's only the one block since there's no rating.
 
Everything in Shadowrun offers the option to rename the item, along the top row. The box next to the rating is for the specifics of the item you're buying.

For example, if you enter "Guns" in the box next to the rating, it will show the name of the item as "License: Guns". Changing the name in the box along the top would allow you to modify that by replacing the part before the colon, for example: "UCAS License: Guns"
