Learning the Editor for 5e

Are there any resources for learning the editor? How did the community team figure this out. I'm trying to learn it (just started a couple of days ago), but i'm having trouble just creating something simple like a background.

Generally, if i can get my foot in the door i can learn something like this pretty quickly but for some reason i am stumbling. Any help would be appreciated.

I would recommend reading the Glossary of Terms for the Editor. Then check out FAQ#2 for all the places to learn about the editor including YouTube videos. Welcome to the wonderful world of using the HL editor which will be the most frustrating and rewarding thing you can do with Hero Lab.
