Ok, so I just bought the program. Pretty friggen sweet if you ask me. This will work good for me as a campaign manager. I am finding you need to put a lot of work into inputting everything, but really categorized it well. I cannot cannot cannot wait until the Pathfinder system is incorporated. I am going to be running "Rise of the Runelords" after we finish up running a 5.0 game of Rise of Tiamat. Very nice job folks.

By the way, I will be asking many many questions on these forums, so very sorry about that, heheh.

Thanks again.

Welcome aboard.

RW is a very versatile tool and it can be used in many different ways.

That can be a bit overwhelmning in the beginning but if you soldier on, then you will soon master it.

Please feel free to ask questions - we all do :-)

Welcome to the club! It's a truly great piece of software, in my opinion.

I would highly suggest playing around by building a test realm before you start prepping for an actual game. Maybe pick up a module you have lying around and just enter it to get a feel for how the system works.

Good luck, and feel free to ask the community for help - there are a ton of helpful and responsive folks on this forum.

Oh - that reminds me

There is a little test realm that you can install when you install the software.

Very handy for doing what JustinThomason suggests.

Just looked through th erelease notes.

For version ...201 it states:

· Tutorial content has been temporarily disabled with this release. We will re-enable it after we get issues resolved that now arise with tutorial content.

So maybe the test realm (or tutorial) is not available for the time being.

I just created a realm named "test" and when I want to mess around with something I do it that realm. I know it is strictly for that so I'm not worried about messing things up.

So I think you made a good decision, realmworks is the best GM side tool I could find for organizing and keeping track of campaigns for RPGs.
That has more to do with the poor state of competitors than how fantastic Realmworks is imho but regardless it's still the best thing out there that I am aware of.

Best of luck in getting up and running, it can be hard to find you're way initially but you should find a lot of help in these forums.

I would say that RW compares favorably to all but the absolute top tier organizational tools out there. If you're used to using the stuff the government uses to track the mob then yes, RW probably suffers in comparison but compared to everything else out there RW is pretty damn good and is getting better all the time and with it being specifically built for this hobby it will, presumably, eventually handle things no other tool will.

Welcome! Be sure to check out some of the older threads on this forum were folks have share screenshots of their realms. I've found these very useful. The GenCon videos are also very useful, if you have the time. I would start with the most recent one. I thought the 2015 GenCon video covered a lot of the bases about setting up your realm.

Welcome!!

I have to really enforce what others say about the tutorial videos, they really are worth every minute. they were a vast help to me in getting off the ground.
