Just a note for people adding with the Editor

Having done this a lot lately, I notice one of the easiest things to do is leave artifacts from whatever you duplicated to use as the base for whatever new Edge, Weapon or whatever you're adding. I not only have done it myself, I've found it in material from other, fan-made data files (I was just checking to try and see if there's a common tag for pistols, and discovered that the Liberator from whoever did the Weird War II files is apparently a polearm. :))
 
Actually that's not from a copy. In the second post in the Common Codes thread I mention that sometimes you'll need to, essentially, appropriate existing categories in order to use ones more appropriate to the setting or because you need more than the base ones would make available as making sense on their own.

You're right outside of that, though, that it's easy to copy and forget to change everything, I do that plenty.
 
I don't really remember, but WWII breaks things out by Nation as well as type, so I had to expand from just the base categories to fit them all they way they were organized in the book.
