Item Creation - I Know I am Missing Something Simple

Hi all. I am a new user and I know I am making a simple oversight but I have been unable to figure out what it is.

I am trying to create a custom magic item from the Reign of Winter AP to add to my existing character. I have watched the 4 part ShadowChemosh video series and I think I am just missing something really simple.

Here are the steps I have taken so far.

1) Opened the editor and created a new user file.
2) On the Equipment/Wondrous Tab, I selected New(Copy) and chose Insidious Bear Trap (which is exactly what I was going to create and what really brings me to my first question. The item already existed but I was unable to choose it in my character portfolio on the magic tab).
3) Assumed that I might simply not own the specific content that introduced the item, so created a copy of the bear trap and gave it a unique ID.
4) Saved the user file and clicked Test Now. I received the prompt that the Insidious Bear Trap is now ready to use in Hero Lab.

When I am out of the editor I am still not seeing the item (specifically on the magic tab [Click to add a new magic item button]). I'm guessing I have to enable that user file as a valid source somewhere, but have been unable to find a way to do that.

I'm pretty sure I am missing something very simple but would appreciate any help or advice someone might have.

It sounded like you created it as a gear item (since you copied the bear trap, which is gear), instead of a magic item, so try adding it through the gear tab instead.
 
I actually copied the Insidious Bear Trap magic item. So it was definitely on the wondrous item area.

That was really the other part of the question that arose for me. I am able to copy the item I was hoping to create. So it's in the data files somewhere but I am unable to select it when I am in the character profile (on the magic tab).
 
At the very end of every editor tab is an option named "Sources" (it'll either be last or next-to-last). Check the item you've created - what's checked among the sources?

Compare that to the configure hero settings of your character, which can be re-opened from the configure hero form - make sure that at least one of the items checked on the item is checked on the character.

The one last thing I can think of that would cause this is if the data file you saved this item to was not in the correct folder - the only valid folder to use for data you want to add to your system is the default place to save the files.
 
Mathias - that was it. I simply had to enable the Reign of Winter source on Configure Hero. I knew it was something that should be easy but sure couldn't find it.
